Grass Fed Beef

We currently sell our grass-fed beef by the half and whole in addition to by the individual cut.

**NOTE: If you've purchased quarters in the past, we're not doing that this fall because we know our beef for this butchering are a little smaller. Consider purchasing a half... contact us for more details.*

The average beef hangs around 200-250 per half. If you're looking for something on the bigger or smaller side, be sure to let us know so we can try to match you up accordingly. Our beef is entirely grass fed and given a free choice certified organic mineral buffet to ensure their optimal health.

If you're interested in purchasing individual cuts, find cut availability and prices on the USDA Meat Cuts page!

For 2018 our price will remain $3.85/lb +processing costs based on the hang weight (carcass weight - there is some shrinkage between the hang weight and take home weight due to the hanging process that helps to tenderize the meat... this is standard; you can assume to take home about 60% of the carcass weight). Approximate processing cost is $0.75/lb. and is paid directly to the butcher upon pickup. Invoice must be paid to us prior to picking up the meat. Meat comes vacuum sealed, labeled, and frozen.

We require a non-refundable deposit for our meat - to reserve a quarter it's $250, a half is $500, and a whole is $700. The deposit gets subtracted from your total bill. If you purchase a half or whole you get to choose custom cuts. Buyers who choose a quarter get standard cuts. Contact us directly to hear about these options. Many people go in with family members so that they can customize. To pay your deposit you may mail us a check OR pay us directly by cash or check at the Wheeling Farmers Market any Saturday 8-12. You may pay your deposit (and/or balance) by credit card, but there will be a 2.75% fee added on to cover our costs.

We're now accepting deposits for fall 2018. We will close our list on September 1 OR when it's full, whichever occurs first.

*All sales are final. Due to state law, once the animal is delivered to the butcher it is the customer's responsibility and no refunds/cancellations can be made.*
